Winter Blast!

...WINTER WEATHER TO RETURN TO UTAH THIS WEEKEND...

A STRONG WEATHER SYSTEM IS FORECAST TO MOVE SOUTH OUT OF THE GULF OF ALASKA THIS WEEKEND...BRINGING A SURGE OF ARCTIC AIR AS WELL AS THE POTENTIAL FOR WIDESPREAD SNOW TO UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING.

A BAND OF HEAVY SNOW WILL LIKELY ACCOMPANY THIS FRONT AS IT MOVES SOUTH THROUGH THE STATE ON SATURDAY. WITH COLDER AIR RAPIDLY MOVING INTO THE AREA...SNOW WILL LIKELY QUICKLY ACCUMULATE ON AREA ROADS POTENTIALLY MAKING FOR HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS OVER THE WEEKEND. IN ADDITION...STRONG GUSTY WINDS BEHIND THE FRONT MAY RESULT IN WHITE-OUT AND NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS.

THE COLD AIR WILL REMAIN IN PLACE ACROSS THE STATE THROUGH NEXT WEEK AS A DEEP UPPER LEVEL TROUGH DEVELOPS OVER THE WESTERN UNITED STATES. THIS WILL RESULT IN A PERIOD OF COLD AND UNSETTLED WEATHER THROUGH NEXT WEEK AS A SERIES OF STORMS SWEEP THROUGH THE REGION.

A VERY COLD AND MOIST PATTERN IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ACROSS THEREGION BEGINNING SATURDAY...AND CONTINUING THROUGH MUCH OF NEXTWEEK. HEAVY SNOW IS EXPECTED ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA SATURDAY WITHTHE INITIAL COLD FRONT. PERIODS OF SIGNIFICANT SNOW WILL ALSO BEPOSSIBLE INTO THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS...ANDARE ALSO LIKELY IN MOST VALLEYS AS WELL.

Friday: A 40 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 35. Southeast wind between 3 and 11 mph.
Friday Night: A 50 percent chance of snow. Cloudy, with a low around 23. Breezy, with a southwest wind between 24 and 28 mph, with gusts as high as 41 mph.
Saturday: Snow. High near 26. Breezy, with a southwest wind 26 to 29 mph becoming northwest 15 to 18 mph. Winds could gust as high as 43 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.
Saturday Night: Snow. Low around 5. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
Sunday: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 15. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Sunday Night: Snow likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 4.
Monday: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 16.
Monday Night: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a low around 6.
Tuesday: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 20.
Tuesday Night: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a low around 8.
Wednesday: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 22.

Yeah! I'm pumped for Brighton to fully open. Snake Creek is fun, but I want more.
