Cyclocross

The wife lined up for her weekly cage match. Racing Cyclocross is like a street fight. I watched the Women's race favorite wreck in a corner and the crowd yelled to her competitors, "She is down, attack her now, it is time for the kill". This isn't the Tour de France where attacking while your competitor slips his chain is frowned upon. You get pounded by your competitor for every mistake, mechanical and misfortune that happens to you and no one feels sorry for your hard race. Only when you are against the ropes fighting for your life do you know what you are really made of. My wife is made of steel, especially on the tough days where she wants to come across the line crying cause it was just that freaking hard out there! I am proud of her for just entering the ring.
